A global center for climate innovation and next-generation green technologies.
Kyoto City, the birthplace of the Kyoto Protocol (COP3, 1997) and the IPCC Kyoto Guidelines that support the implementation of the Paris Agreement, has been promoting various environmental and energy initiatives as an environmentally advanced city, including support for the practical application of new power semiconductor technologies that are expected to be energy-saving.

Currently, to promote the development of green industries, the city is supporting the social implementation of university research seeds, such as promoting research and development through matching companies with universities and creating start-up companies in the deep tech field.
In addition, many green companies with high technical capabilities have moved into the Advanced Chemical Technology Center in Kyoto (ACT Kyoto), which is equipped with laboratory functions, and are conducting research and development in collaboration with domestic and international companies and research institutions.
